We’re Armus Refrigeration — the commercial repair side of Armus Mechanical, based right here in New Bedford. We’ve been turning wrenches on commercial refrigeration for 15+ years: walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, ice machines, reach-ins, prep tables, glass-door merchandisers. The cold side of the kitchen that everything else depends on. When it stops, we come fix it.

What we do (and what we don’t)

We fix commercial refrigeration. That’s the whole focus. We don’t do residential fridges, we don’t write HVAC contracts for office towers, and we don’t install soft-serve machines. What we do is keep your kitchen cold — repairs, preventative maintenance, refrigerant recovery and recharge, compressor swaps, evaporator coil work, gasket replacements, defrost diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and 24/7 emergency response across our service area.

We work on every major brand — Hoshizaki, True, Manitowoc, Norlake, Kolpak, Master-Bilt, Continental, Beverage-Air, Traulsen, Scotsman, Ice-O-Matic — plus the oddball units nobody else wants to touch. We stock the common parts on the truck, so more often than not we fix it on the first visit instead of leaving you down waiting on a parts run.

Licensed, insured, and straight with you

We’re licensed and insured, and EPA Section 608 certified — that’s the federal requirement for anyone handling refrigerant. We pull permits when a job calls for them, we leave your space cleaner than we found it, and we send you photos of what failed and what we replaced, so you’ve got documentation for insurance or for the GM upstairs.

We’ll also tell you the truth about your equipment. If your 18-year-old walk-in is leaking refrigerant through a corroded line set and it’s still on the original compressor, we’ll give you the repair number and the replacement number both, so you can make the call with real information. No upselling, no scare tactics. We’d rather earn the next ten years of your business than win one inflated invoice.

Where we work

We cover Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. If you’re in New Bedford, Fall River, Dartmouth, or anywhere along the South Coast, we’re usually 30 minutes out. Up the Cape we can typically be there inside a couple hours.

Massachusetts: Boston, Worcester, Cambridge, Quincy, Fall River, New Bedford, Hyannis, Falmouth, Plymouth, Hingham, Brockton, Taunton, Lakeville, Acushnet, Mattapoisett, and the surrounding South Coast, Cape, and MetroWest towns.
